Welcome again to this week's word for the week. I want to ask you a question this week and it's not a trick question. If I ask you are you prepared for what God has in store in for you what would your answer be? It would be yes. In your heart and mind that answer is probably the absolute truth. There is probably no doubt in your mind that you are ready. But if you know me then you know there's another question. Are you as ready as you say you are? Let's go further.
In order to really answer that question you need to give a few things some consideration. You may truly believe you are ready. You may have been waiting long enough until you feel within yourself you better be ready. However, readiness requires an examination. When soldiers are deployed they must go through a checklist of things. That checklist serves as a tool that lets you be sure you have everything you need and it's in working order. If something is missing then you will be able to easily identify that. Again, it's about examination.
Take an honest look at your own life. Is your prayer life at this moment on par with the level you're trying to go to? How are your study habits? Do you not only read more but do you now have more understanding on how various things in the word fit together? Is the bible easier to digest now when you read it? Are you able to see more of your own life and God's plan for it when you read? Do you spend more time listening to God now? Are you clear about what He is saying to you? Are you doing those things He is telling you to do? Are you consistent in all of these questions I just asked?
What seems to be a series of trick questions is actually your own checklist. You may want to go to the next level but trust me you will need all of these things working together. The hold up many times for people is not in what they want. It's in what they are willing to do to get there. You may want to go to the next level but are you willing to do all of the things it takes to get there? You already saw the key word in that last question and it is the word all. So while you wait on the Lord to do His part make sure you take some time to be honest and examine if you are really ready for what may come your way.
May the Lord continue to bless and keep you in His grace,
