Welcome again to this week's word for the week. I would imagine that this might sound like a trick question but it's really not. Let me start by saying that Numbers 23:19 says that God is not a man that He should lie nor the son of man that He should repent. It goes on to say has He spoken it and shall He not bring it to pass. That leaves us with a simple question that has a few layers to it. Do you believe that scripture? I mean do you really believe that scripture for yourself?

If you answer yes to that question then this is where things get interesting. Take a look at some of the things you have going on in your life at the moment. How many of those are really in the hands of God? How many of those things are you trying to work out? The point this week is that it is easy to say God is in control of all you do. The real question though is how true is that for you? It's no different than when Jesus asked His disciples who other men said that He was and then asked them what do they say.

It's important this week if we are to be encouraged that we examine how much do we trust God. How can one be encouraged and get back up if they do not trust God to be the One to do the things that are necessary? Trust is an easy word to throw out there. It is a difficult word to live by. Give that point some thought. It is easy to say something but it is entirely different to take action. Taking action can cost you and you have to be ready for the pitfalls that may be waiting for you. Talking about it means you can do it from the comfort of a couch. The reality is that life is lived out in real time!

Take some time this week to meditate on that one verse. It is not difficult to digest. Simply ask yourself how much do you trust God at His word. It's necessary if you plan on getting back up. It's necessary if you plan on recovering what you may have lost. It is also important to make sure all of the things you need are really in the hands of God. You don't want to find out later it's you doing everything and there's no room in your life for God. You want to know now so that you can make any correction that is necessary to get what God has in store for you.

May the Lord continue to bless and keep you in His grace,
