Welcome again to this week's word for the week. I'm going to do something this week that I rarely do at any other time. I'm going to give you a glimpse into where we will be headed for the next weeks Lord willing. I can't say this enough but the Lord is constantly telling me to tell His people to get up. It's time to get up from many things and for many reasons. One of the greatest reasons is so you can walk in the plan of God and in the multitude of things He has in store for you. Let's begin.

Trying times call for tried remedies. When your back is up against the wall spiritually speaking you need to engage in things that will work in order to counter what you're facing. Anybody can quit. That's the easiest thing you can do in life is say what you don't want to do anymore. Reaching deep down to find the motivation to win is what makes champions. That's what it takes to be a winner. You have to find more reasons to try than you do reasons to give up. In the spiritual sense that means we have to remind ourselves of the many reasons God is more than worthy of the effort it takes to win the fight that's before us.

Your first step is two fold. You have to know what you're getting up from and you have to know what it is you're looking forward to. In order to get up from what you may be in it will take a tremendous amount of honesty on your behalf. Don't worry, these are questions you ask yourself when no one else is around. These are the things you must meditate on first. It's not like you have to think about what you're in. You have to think about are you really ready to be free. Are you ready to let some things go? Do you recognize what those things are? Do you know why you have to let them go?

It's easy to think that you can move on and fix things along the way. The truth is you have to make room for the things of God. You have to clear things out first. As I like to say, you can't have a new living room set get delivered and not be willing to part ways with the old one. Think about the effort to look for a new set. Think about the money it costs. Think about the other accessories you will also need. You have to know that you are ready for change. It's easy to say you are but are you wiling to part with old things?

This week we're going to focus on just that. We will talk next week Lord willing about what you're looking forward to. But first, we need to be free from looking behind us before we can talk about looking ahead. You have to be willing to take the necessary losses in order to win the greater good in the end. Trust me, you won't miss things as much as you think once you realize how important it is for you to get rid of them. This is not about you doing things to get the attention of others. This is about you doing things to get the attention of God so that He can do the things He has said He wants to do in your life. Give those questions some deep thought this week. They are your setup for great things to come if you take heed.

May the Lord continue to bless and keep you in His grace,
