Welcome again to this week's word for the week. What I am going to say this week does not take long to say. However, it is something you should always remember in everything you do. In other words, as simple as this may be make sure you never forget it. The hardest part of anything you will ever do is getting started. That's right, getting started is always the most difficult part of any journey. You want to know where you're going, how you're going to get there, and how long will it take.

These are not unusual questions. The truth is there are many times when it is more than appropriate for you to ask these questions. Then, there will be times when you will have to simply trust the Lord in all you do and follow His leading. If you pause, you will only delay how long it takes to get there. If you stop, you will never see what could have been. When you really think about it you realize you are not left with many choices. Again, getting started is the toughest part of anything you decide to do because it requires faith to even move.

So here's the point this week. If you go to the beach you will notice at certain times the waves roll in with great force. If seems that if you were to try to get in the water and go out further the waves would simply push you back. While the start may be rough I want to encourage you to do something in life. Look beyond the waves in front of you and you will realize it is smooth once you reach a certain point. In other words, the rough beginning does not mean the whole journey will be rough and that's the real point this week. You won't know what's past those rough waves until you at least try to go beyond them. After all, all things are possible if you will only believe!

So the things you have been putting off because you were unsure of how to start or did not think it was possible are the things you need to take another look at. Don't see it through your own eyes this time. Ask God to give you a vision on the possibility and the things that are yet to come. After all, if He doesn't open your eyes you will never see that they that are for you or more than they that are against you. A quitter never wins and a winner never quits. The difference is that one has a willingness to at least try and push through the rough moments while the other one gives up as soon as it doesn't seem easy. Which one will you be in life?

May the Lord continue to bless and keep you in His grace,

Bishop Carlos J. Lennon
