Welcome again to this week's word for the week. How far does God want to take you this year? What are some of the things He wants to do in your life this year? What are some of the things you need to begin? What are some of the things you need to let go of? Here's a bigger question for you to be honest about. Do you even know the answer to any of these questions? Have you taken time to even pray this year and see what God's plan is for your life?
A new year's resolution is something you come up with. Those are your own ideas and goals. It does not mean that those ideas and goals come from God. Rather we want to admit it or not, they are usually our own thoughts. This is in spite of the fact that we say we seek God and will do whatever He says we must do. Don't worry, it's a wake up call more than anything and I promise this will make quick sense this week.
The bible says to write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. In other words, the vision is your guide. It is put in plain sight so that you will always know which direction you should be going in. The vision keeps you moving. It does not allow you to sit still unless that is what it is instructing you to do. The vision should ignite your hunger and thirst for more of God. It should inspire you to be more passionate about the things He has in store for you.
Anyone can say God showed them something. Not everyone can walk in what He showed them. It is not because they are unable to. Oftentimes, it is because they are unwilling to or simply do not know to do so. We have to know the will of God is my point. We cannot afford to say He has great things in store for us and then not have a clue on anything. I get there are things we will not know at times. However, if you never know anything then what are you really waiting for? The point is you have to know His will for your life.
So as we do most weeks here, there is a challenge for you. If you can take some time to really seek God's will for your life how much more would you discover about Him? How much more would you discover He has in store for you? What if you have not been aiming high enough for the things that God has in store for you? What would you do if you were to discover that you are actually behind the scheduled time that He has planned for you? Don't miss your moment. I can't say that enough here and if I sound like a broken record then that's fine. I will say it until everyone gets it, don't miss your moment with God! Take some time and see what His will is for you. Then be willing and obedient in doing what He says.
May the Lord continue to bless and keep you in His grace,
