Welcome again to this week's word for the week. There are times when the simple things can have the most impact in our lives. You know there's something to that statement so here we go. If God tells you to go left would you go right? If He tells you to move would you stand still? If He tells you to praise Him would you keep silent? If He says to wake up and pray would you turn over and go back to sleep?
Let's face it. There are times when God is telling us to do some simple tasks and yet we fail at them. We fail because of what we do not always understand. If it doesn't make sense there are many people who will not do it. Yet, it doesn't make sense that God saved us when we look at how we used to live. It doesn't make sense when He blesses us when we know for ourselves we don't always deserve it. Is it possible we are only faithful to the things we can see? What are we missing out on because of what we don't understand?
Go back to the first paragraph for a moment. Why would you go right if God tells you left? Doesn't He already know the pathway that's best for us? Why would you stand still if He says to move? Isn't God aware of the time being at hand for our lives? Why would you be silent if He says to praise Him? Doesn't His word command everything that has breath to praise Him? Are you still living? Then why are you silent? Why would you go back to sleep if He says to wake up? Do you know what it is that He may need to speak to you about or show you?
At the end of the day we have no excuse for our disobedience. We also have no excuse for our lack of understanding. There are far too many things the Lord wants to show us but we will never see them if we're not willing and obedient. This is not the time to let self get in the way. This is not the time to let your flesh rule you instead of the spirit God has placed within you. It is always the season to say yes to God. The question is how bad do you really want not only what God has for you but also God Himself? Don't miss what's in store because of what you don't understand. Simply trust Him and follow Him and you will never be disappointed!
May the Lord continue to bless and keep you in His grace,
