Welcome again to this week's word for the week. As this year comes to a rapid close it's important to realize that it's not over either. There is still time for God to do what He said He will do. This is not the time to lose hope and quit. This is the time to look in the mirror and ask the honest question of what is the holdup in your life. It's not a fun question to ask or examine but it takes you a long way.
When God makes us a promise there is a part we play in that promise. Even if we are charged to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord it does not mean we are to stop praying. Sometimes we get frustrated when the problem is we're not doing what we need to be doing. This is the time to get it together. This is the time to see yourself at the finish line and be willing to do what it takes to get there. This is the time to dig down deep and find the determination it takes to win.
Take some time and look around you for a moment. What are you surrounded by? What does your environment look like? Who's in your space right now? Are your surroundings good for your promise? Is the atmosphere around you like it should be? Are you surrounded by the right people? Do you have people around you pushing you to succeed or are they content if you don't win? Are you surrounded by people who are connected to God and can pray on your behalf if needed?
Everything has to line up for you to win. You need to be doing the right thing, be in the right place, and be surrounded by people who are anointed by God. Take my word for this next point. If you are surrounded by anything or anyone not connected to God they pose a serious risk of dragging you backwards, holding you up, or hindering you altogether. There are some of you reading this who have no idea how much change is needed in order for you to win. You don't realize the need to change when you are blinded by things and people who are also blinded.
This is not a word to say let people go. This is a word to get you to be honest about who and what is necessary for this next season in your life. You have to be serious about your life, your dreams, your visions, and the promises God has for you. It's not the responsibility of anyone or anything else to put that in you. You have to want it for yourself. Excuses are not your friend. They are your hindrance. They weigh you down to the point you cannot move in any direction. The enemy doesn't always have to pull you backwards. He simply has to stop you from going forward.
This is a call for everyone who still believes it's not too late to live like they believe that. Be sincere about what you believe in. Take it seriously and be determined to see and have everything God has promised you. If you knew you were getting new furniture delivered you would make sure you knew where it was going. You would clear out spaces, rearrange things, and get rid of anything not needed. You would not let anything that is old hinder the delivery of the new. Be the same way in your spiritual walk with Christ. Don't let any old thing or things get in the way of the new things God wants to bless with. Give that some thought this week and get yourself prepared for the overflow!
May the Lord continue to bless and keep you in His grace,
