Welcome again to this week's word for the week. There are times when you hear one thing and a multitude of other points come to mind as a result of what you heard. This week's word is one such moment. While watching the messages from earlier there was a point I made that really caught my attention. I'm honest enough to say it caught my attention while watching it because it was not something I had planned to say. It was something I was led to say at that moment. With that in mind let's get straight to the point this week.
The statement that the Lord gave me was that changing to do right by God is never out of season. Give that point some thought this week. We are always talking about it is the season for this and it is the season for that. There is nothing wrong with that when it is truly a season ordained by God. Let's look at the natural seasons to make sense of this. There are four season with distinct weather in each. When those seasons are upon us we clearly know them. Now let's go further.
When it comes to God things can be a little more complicated. What season is it truly for you? Give that some thought. What should you really be doing in this season? How can you be sure this is the season for that? How long will this season last? Is it something just for now or is it something you will have to revisit later? Do you only one chance to get this right or is it something God will be patient about as you learn and grow? That's a lot of questions to have to answer if you're honest about it.
In the midst of all that is going on in your life there is one season that never changes. It is always the season to do right with God. That is one season that will never change in your life. You never have to question if it's time to do better. You never have to question is it time to make some changes for the better. You never have to question can you improve your walk with God. That is always in season. Let me be more honest. That is one season that will never go out of style or get old.
There is a simple but yet real point to all of this. The need to change will always be necessary regardless to what season it is in your life. You will discover, hopefully more sooner than later, that every level higher requires more of a willingness to change on your end. This will not change. In order to receive more of God you must realize there will be constant changes that will have to be made. There is no way around that but it really has a benefit. The change helps you be more prepared and ready to keep what God is doing. Let me explain briefly and we will be done this week.
The changes you make don't simply prepare you for the next level. They build you for many levels to come. In other words, the changes you make today are not all for today. They are also for times that eyes have not seen nor ears have heard. Some things God does today are not all for today. Some of them are for a lifetime. Change never goes out of style. It will always be necessary in your life. There is nothing wrong with making an adjustment that brings correction. The problem is when you insist on builidng while ignoring the corrections you need to make.
Every house is built with corrections that are made onsite. If those corrections are not made there is a very real possibility that the house will not stand for long. No one wants to take that chance. The changes are made to ensure safety and quality. They have long term effects. Your life is no different. There will be adjustments made to the blueprints but those adjustments will only produce a better you. Change is never out of season. That is the one thing you can always do!
May the Lord continue to bless and keep you in His grace,
