We realize that there are lines under the text and dark spaces at the end of the paragraphs. As soon as we figure out a work around we will correct this. In the meantime, we didn't want to let that be a hindrance to making the previous word for the weeks available. Thanks for your understanding as we work to resolve this.

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. There are times in life when if we want things to get better we have to look in the mirror. We blame everything around us sometimes when things are held up but sometimes the problem is the person staring back at you in the mirror. It is convenient to blame things, circumstances, and people. Again, there are times we simply need to look in the mirror.

Nothing can stop you unless there's one of two things taking place. The first thing is that God doesn't have whatever you're after in store for you. As much as you may want it you may need to realize that's just not what He has in store for you. The second reason is simply you. There are times when we either need to do some ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. There is a word called expectation. It's not a difficult word in meaning. It simply means the act or state of expecting. In other words, it means to look forward to something. The definition is simple but there's a process behind it and a part you play. You can have little expectation or great expectation. The choice is truly yours.

Things do not simply happen because you hope they do. You must be persistent in your prayers. You cannot afford to waver and be up and down about what you're praying for. This is not the season for half-way. This is the season to be all in. Anything less and you may as well leave it alone. I cannot be any more honest than that. Desperate times call...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. This week I was led to talk about a topic that at times seems uncomfortable in church but is something that is very much needed. This week we will talk about mental health. Don't check out just yet. This is actually encouraging for many of you and if not for you then for someone you know. It is not a stigma or something bad. It is a real byproduct of the many things that are going on in this world at the same time. When you add your own personal issues in the mix then you already know it's a challenge. Trust me, this won't take long this week.

Being weary in your mind doesn't happen suddenly. It's a process of multiple things over an extended period of time. Nobody ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. One of the most difficult things you can do in your life is try to figure out how to handle frustration. Usually, the difficulty is because we are trying to figure why. We want to know why things are happening to us. Oftentimes. we end up wasting valuable time trying to figure out something we may never have an answer to. This won't be long so let's go further.

Now with a topic like this some of you may be wondering why I say this won't be long. It won't be long because there is one simple thing you can do that will change a whole lot for you. You can focus on other things you can control and that will bring you joy and a sense of satisfaction. No, I'm not telling you ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. Pray. That's the word for this week. Pray. Sounds simple? Pray. Every time you think of what's going on in your life this week pray. When you're up, pray. When you're down, pray. When you feel great, pray. When you feel weary, pray. It's a simple word but it's powerful. It brings life, strength, healing, comfort, joy, and multitude of other things that only God can give you. Pray.

Let's face a new reality in the times we're now living in. No longer can we sit and wait for things to happen before we pray. We need to be praying before they happen. God equips us with the ability to pray. It's up to us to use it. It's not difficult. It's a matter of...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. I have been wanting to address something for several weeks but I really needed to wait on the Lord said the time was right. This week's word is really a matter of practical advice and wisdom. We all are very much aware of Covid-19 as it is now called. As we all know, there is a real push to put it on the back burner. However, we need to be aware that this is not a global matter but rather one in our country and only in certain states. Let's go further.

As Christians it is our place to pray for those in authority. That by itself can seem to be a difficult task when we watch how some of them conduct themselves. Nevertheless, it is our place to pray. We need to always remember there ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. Let's get straight to the point this week and begin with a question. With the choice to do right by God, do you do so because you want to or because you have to? There is a difference between the two and it's not difficult to understand. Your reason for doing right has a direct effect on how you do right. When you want to do right you put your heart into it. When you don't, then you take shortcuts because you don't care. It will take you being honest for you on which reason fits you.

As you examine that question you have to be honest. If any of us were God we certainly would not let anyone take any shortcuts. Yet, we know better many times and simply won't do it. This ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. This week we're going to shift gears in a major way. The question is what does God mean to you? What does He mean in the big picture of "your" life? Anyone can say they love God. Anyone can say He's first and foremost. Anyone can say how much they won't let anything come between them and God. Anyone can say anything as I say all the time. That sounds good but how true is it for you? After Jesus asked the disciples what others said about Him the next question was what do they say.

Let's deal with the elephant in the room. For far too long there have been too many "Christians" who at the first sign of trouble will move away from God. If their money is ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. I really wrestled this week as far as which direction to go in for this word. There are so many things happening around us and it truly feels like it's one thing after another. In the midst of all of this there is one word that cannot be ignored. Pray. I know, if you look at the comments in the articles of current events it's the one thing people outright say either doesn't work or is not needed. Yet, nothing is moving in the right direction if they would just be honest.

I realize that there is a real push in our society to ignore God. It seems anything that concerns Him in conversation is dismissed. I'm going to say something here that may shock some of you but some...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. In light of everything going on in this world it is hard not to think about everything more than you would prefer. As I was sitting here waiting on the Lord to speak about the word for the week there was something that I always say that He brought back to my remembrance. I always say we must be balanced in the things we do. This is important as it will keep you from straying too far to the left or right many times in your life. As a leader in the Lord's church it is virtually impossible for me not to address the many concerns at a time such as this.

I am a firm believer that we should not walk in fear and yet we should exercise great wisdom when we walk. By that I mean we should...
