Welcome again to this week's word for the week. I won't be very long this week as this is a word for you to meditate on and think about throughout the week. What really stops us from reaching our full potential in Christ? He gives us the promises, gives us a way to see those promises, and promises to protect us along the way. He never promised the journey would be easy but He did promise that it is possible. With that information already known to us there are still too many times we miss the mark. Why is that?
Let's get to the heart of an important part of that scenario. How much do you really trust Christ? Nothing can happen on your behalf that He has promised until He has your complete trust. I want to challenge you that ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. If you had one chance to get everything in your life straight what would you do? It's easy to say you would do the right thing but give this some serious thought. Also, if you know me then you know there's way more to it. So let me ask that question one more time. If you had one chance to get everything in your life straight what would you do?
Let's get straight to the heart of the matter. Many people will answer they will take advantage of that one chance. I want to challenge you that the last time God gave you a chance could've been your last chance. The time before that one could've been and so could the countless other times. The reality is if you would've ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. The roadmap for your life is predetermined by God. All you have to do is follow the instructions. Jeremiah 29:11 says that God knows the thoughts and plans that He has in store for us. Again, all we have to do is follow those plans and we are sure to arrive at the destination that God has in store for us. Does that sound easy? You already know if you've lived any amount of time with Christ that the hard part on our end is to just follow God.
The summer is coming up and many people have plans for a trip. Some will decide to just take a break and not go anywhere. Either of those options are fine. There is something to be said about those who may travel not just for the summer but ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. Victory is not achieved through shouting and dancing. It's achieved through prayer, perseverance, diligence, patience, and a serious willingness to do your part. You have to speak it. You have to believe it. You have to be willing to achieve it. Great things don't always simply fall in your lap. Sometimes, you have to do something on your part in order to see God do His part.
Now that we got that out of the way let's have plain talk this week. Think about all of the things so far you are victorious in. Now think about the things you can see your victory coming to. Lastly, think about the things that don't seem to be heading in the way of victory. If you're honest with ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. Let's start out this week by asking two simple but powerful questions. How much more time do you have left to live? When is Christ coming back? The truth is none of know the answer to either of those questions. While it would be nice to know, the reality is that we will never know the answer to either of those questions.
What are we supposed to do? We are supposed to simply be ready. There is nothing else we can do. We are charged to live this life for Christ. We are instructed to not count on tomorrow because it may not be here for us. We are instructed to trust God for our salvation. We are instructed to be holy because God is holy. We are instructed to do a lot of things that...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. John 10:10 is a simple but yet powerful verse. In practical terms it says the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy us while Jesus came that we could not only have life but have it abundantly. While that sounds like a simple verse the question is what does that mean to you? When you read that what exactly do you see? What does it say that you may be missing? Let's go further here.
There is nothing complicated about the verse. However, we need to realize that the verse also points to an awareness we must have. This is not going to be easy if we pay attention. There is an enemy after us and his purpose is to steal from us, to kill us, and destroy us. While that may be his purpose we ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. It is so easy to get distracted. That is something most people don't want to discuss. Regardless, it's a true statement. It's very easy to get distracted in life. This is something that can be avoided but it takes much prayer, fasting, focus, and a commitment to God. There has to be something in you that's determined to not miss what God has for you. It's easy to be distracted.
Distractions are simple. Anything that gets in the way of what you're trying to do is a distraction. Some can be controlled but we have to have a willingness to control them. You can control the volume on your tv while you're praying. There's no reason at all for you not to be in a ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. One of the most difficult times in your life is not when everything is going bad. It's not when it seems like it's one thing after another. One of the most difficult times in your life is when God is doing something that will change you beyond your control. This may sound easy but the reality is that it is difficult. It's difficult because we put so much time into becoming who we are rather that's good or bad. Let's go further.
When God is getting ready to do a spiritual makeover in you it can hurt. It doesn't hurt your spirit. It hurts your flesh and ego. It hurts because you suddenly find yourself being driven into what is the unknown for you at the moment. The ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. What would you give up for God? Give that some real thought. Now let me ask that question again. What would you give up for God? If you say everything do you know what everything may be? If you are hesitant do you realize what you may be missing out on? If you say you don't know then the question could be asked do you realize how much He has given up for you?
All of these questions point to something simple if you don't over think the question. What comes down to is that you would need to count the cost. Too often we blurt out things without thinking what that might mean. We say yes without thinking about what that yes will mean. Make sure you understand me clearly here. I'm ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. If someone were to ask you who you are in Christ what would your response be? Do you really know what it means when someone asks you that? Let's give this some thought before we go further this week. If I'm not sure or if I'm incorrect about what my identity is and what it means there is a great possibility of failure in my life. Anyone who is unsure of what God has them here for is in great danger of taking the wrong path at any given time.
It's easy to be misled. It's easy to think you know something that you don't. It's easy to think you've heard something that was never said. It's easy to think something that does not exist. It's easy to be ...
