Welcome again to this week's word for the week. As I do at times, this week will require some thought and prayer on your behalf. I won't be long because it's really not about what I have to say this week. It's about what God has to say about your life. I encourage our congregation every year not to sit down and come up with resolutions for the new year. Instead, I encourage them to pray and seek the Lord on what He has in store for them. Let's face a tough truth here. Resolutions are simply your thoughts and plans. Prayer will open you up to God's thoughts and plans. Which do you prefer?
When you go to God in prayer concerning the direction for your life it's important that you don't do so with your own agenda on your mind. It's very easy to go into prayer with your agenda and come out thinking you heard the very thing you wanted. It's best to calm your thoughts and wait until nothing else is on your mind other than what God may have to say. Trust me, your life will be better because of prayer. So please for your own sake make sure you take time to seek God. The things you will find the most success in this year will be the things He had in store for you. This is not the year to miss it. This is the year to be victorious!
May the Lord continue to bless and keep you in His grace,
Bishop Carlos J. Lennon
