Welcome again to this week's word for the week. None of us are what we used to be. If you want to take that to the next level we shouldn't be today what we were yesterday. We should always strive to grow in the Lord. Yes, we should even strive to grow daily. Some may look at that and that's a lot of growing and that's the point exactly. There's too much growth in store for us to be the same person today that we were yesterday. We should grow every day of our lives.

Let's go further here and I won't be long. A person may say they have a lot to work on and that it will take time. I'm not saying there are not things that don't take time. I'm saying that there should be progress every day. You should not be at a standstill. You should move with a sense of urgency. There should be dedication on your part to change the things you can. If you allow yourself to settle for where you've already been then you will never go to where you've never been. You have to press and make it your business to grow in the Lord.

Don't allow yourself to get in the excuse mode. If God is working on you about a lack of prayer then you should be doing better daily. If you've never prayed everyday then you should find yourself doing so now. Maybe you won't be praying for ten minutes at a time but you've got to start somewhere. Prayer is not about how long we spend doing so. It's about how much we get from it. You can pray for an hour and do all of the talking and never let God say a word. You will be the same after that hour because you still won't know the will of God. You can pray for that same hour and let God speak even half of that time and you will come out far different than what you went in!

My point is you have to make it your goal to grow daily. You have to pray more, study more, and listen even more. The bible doesn't say be swift to hear and slow to speak just because. It says it for a reason. You can't grow when you're so busy talking until you never listen. That leads me up to the last point here this week. Are you listening so that God can show you where He needs you to grow? Are you making time for that growth? Are you willing to give up what you like to make more time to grow? You get out what you put in. Growth comes over time and it comes with great effort. Don't find yourself on the losing end in this season. God created you to be a winner. It's time to grow into being that winner!

May the Lord continue to bless and keep you in His grace,
