Welcome again to this week's word for the week. One of the most powerful things you can do when walking with the Lord is to know who you are. I don't mean for you to know who you are on your own. I mean for you to know who you are in Christ! That is truly something powerful because it can have drastic effects in your life that can really push you further into Christ. Let's get straight to the point here.

To know who you are in Christ is to know your purpose. When you know who you then it is hard to be sidetracked. A truly blessed person who knows if it were not for God there would be no them does not allow themselves to be caught up in foolishness. There are some things that you just simply know are foolish for you. For example, when you know who you are in Christ then you are mindful of your actions, ways, and habits. It matters to you how you carry yourself because it matters who you are serving.

A person who knows who they are in Christ will call on God much quicker and will wait far longer than someone who has simply heard about Him. Why? That persons already knows God is their Father and as such He will never leave them or forsake them. A person who knows who they are in Christ already knows that whatever obstacle they face in life will truly pass from them. Their sureness is not in themselves but rather in the promises of God.

When you know who you are in Christ it is easier to pray. You know God hears you and you know He cares for you. When you're truly His you already know His obligation to take care of you. You know He will never fail you. You may wait longer than you want, cry longer than you expect, and suffer more setbacks than you thought but you always know He will show up at any given moment. When you know who you are in Christ it's not if He will show up but rather just a matter of time that He will show up.

Knowing who you are in Christ gives you confidence in Him. The enemy is hoping that you will lose your faith and hope. He's hoping that you will throw in the towel on God and walk away. He's hoping that you will go back to the old life and the old you. However, when you know who you are in Christ then you can never be easily shaken. Do you get where we're going here? Do you see a pattern here? It comes down to you knowing who you are.

Give those thoughts some serious thought. Do you truly know who you are in Christ? Does your life as whole reflect that knowledge? Are you certain that you cannot be easily shaken? Is your hope and faith truly anchored in Christ? Have you made a serious commitment to serve Christ no matter the cost? Don't lose your identity in Christ. Don't lose your position in Him. Don't get so close and then end up so far away. It's not a matter of if you can this. You can. This is the season to know who you are in Christ. That's the only way you will be in position for the next thing He wants to do is if you first know you're already His!

May the Lord continue to bless and keep you in His grace,
