We realize that there are lines under the text and dark spaces at the end of the paragraphs. As soon as we figure out a work around we will correct this. In the meantime, we didn't want to let that be a hindrance to making the previous word for the weeks available. Thanks for your understanding as we work to resolve this.

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. It is so easy to get distracted. That is something most people don't want to discuss. Regardless, it's a true statement. It's very easy to get distracted in life. This is something that can be avoided but it takes much prayer, fasting, focus, and a commitment to God. There has to be something in you that's determined to not miss what God has for you. It's easy to be distracted.

Distractions are simple. Anything that gets in the way of what you're trying to do is a distraction. Some can be controlled but we have to have a willingness to control them. You can control the volume on your tv while you're praying. There's no reason at all for you not to be in a ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. One of the most difficult times in your life is not when everything is going bad. It's not when it seems like it's one thing after another. One of the most difficult times in your life is when God is doing something that will change you beyond your control. This may sound easy but the reality is that it is difficult. It's difficult because we put so much time into becoming who we are rather that's good or bad. Let's go further.

When God is getting ready to do a spiritual makeover in you it can hurt. It doesn't hurt your spirit. It hurts your flesh and ego. It hurts because you suddenly find yourself being driven into what is the unknown for you at the moment. The ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. What would you give up for God? Give that some real thought. Now let me ask that question again. What would you give up for God? If you say everything do you know what everything may be? If you are hesitant do you realize what you may be missing out on? If you say you don't know then the question could be asked do you realize how much He has given up for you?

All of these questions point to something simple if you don't over think the question. What comes down to is that you would need to count the cost. Too often we blurt out things without thinking what that might mean. We say yes without thinking about what that yes will mean. Make sure you understand me clearly here. I'm ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. If someone were to ask you who you are in Christ what would your response be? Do you really know what it means when someone asks you that? Let's give this some thought before we go further this week. If I'm not sure or if I'm incorrect about what my identity is and what it means there is a great possibility of failure in my life. Anyone who is unsure of what God has them here for is in great danger of taking the wrong path at any given time.

It's easy to be misled. It's easy to think you know something that you don't. It's easy to think you've heard something that was never said. It's easy to think something that does not exist. It's easy to be ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. I truly love to see God's people grow more in Him! There is something really special when you see someone grow from one place to another in Christ. It is definitely something none of us should take for granted. At the end of the day we are all still growing in some form or fashion. That's what I'm led to briefly encourage you in this week so let's get straight to the point.

What does it mean to grow in Christ? You can easily get different answers to that question depending on who you ask. Rather than make things complicated let's keep it simple so that nothing gets lost as we move forward. To grow in Christ means to learn more of Him. It's not about what you ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. Let's get straight to the point this week. Give this some thought. What's the difference in your Christian walk from the time you got started up to now? How different is it? How much has it improved? Are there any areas where you have regressed? When I say your Christian walk I mean your life as a whole. You can have more faith and yet find yourself in more sin. Take an honest look at your whole life.

Now here's the real point here. When we first get saved we are more likely to be more accepting of the things of God. There is something to be said about the time when we didn't know much. It forced us to trust God more. It forced us to seek out knowledge and understanding. ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. If you look around you there is something you will quickly notice if you're a believer in Christ. Everyone doesn't share your enthusiasm for Christ. There are things about Jesus that may outright excite you. The first thing you sometimes want to do is simply tell someone how great He is to you and what He means to you. What do you do when it seems like others do not want to hear about your Jesus?

This is one of the toughest things a believer has to deal with when it comes to their witness for Christ. We are to be a light that shines bright. We are to let that light shine bright so that others may see it and be drawn to Christ. Yet, there are times when others don't even seem ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. Whom the Son has set free is free indeed. How many times have you heard that? It is a common passage of scripture that is often quoted and for very good reason. It is true! The question is not if it's true or not. The question is do you know what that means for you? Do you understand all of the areas of your life that are covered by that passage?

I need to get straight to the point this week. Do you realize that being free also means those areas that are strongholds in your life? It applies to those things that seem to constantly get in your way. Those things that seem to constantly be the source of your failures. Those things that seem to pull on your flesh at the very time you say ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. Well, the new year is truly here. We are not talking about it being on the way anymore. The time is actually here now. While there is good reason to be excited there's also a good reason to be watchful. Take a look around you for a moment. Who are the people in your circle? What are some of the things you are attached to? How do those things line up with where you are headed and trying to accomplish?

In life you have to constantly evaluate things and people around you. This is not a bad thing at all. It's always good to know who and what are near you. It's important for you to know these things as they can have a big impact on where you're going. The right people and ...

Welcome again to this week's word for the week. As I do at times, this week will require some thought and prayer on your behalf. I won't be long because it's really not about what I have to say this week. It's about what God has to say about your life. I encourage our congregation every year not to sit down and come up with resolutions for the new year. Instead, I encourage them to pray and seek the Lord on what He has in store for them. Let's face a tough truth here. Resolutions are simply your thoughts and plans. Prayer will open you up to God's thoughts and plans. Which do you prefer?

When you go to God in prayer concerning the direction for your life it's important that you don't do so with your own ...
